Oldmobile Alero 2002-powersteering pump?

ok so i got the powersteering pump replaced about 4 mths ago and it was working perfectly fine. Got the oil changed and about a few days later noticed a burning smell. Well after that the powersteering started making noise i check it to see how the fluid is doing an it is almost completely empty. Now the noise is constant. but not spraying out fluid like it was in the 1st place like when i got it replaced. can someone lead me in a direction of what the hell i should do??HELPOldmobile Alero 2002-powersteering pump?
fix the leak refill the pump before you burn it up probably a hose put fluid in look for a leak and you'll know whats leaking

are you leaking PS Fluid from the rack n pinion??

any puddles in your driveway?? burning smell, sounds like you could be leaking the fluid onto a hot hose or part of the frame. There are rubber boots on the end of the steering rack where the tie-rods join the rack. if they are loose or cracked, fluid can also leak through them. wherever its leaking onto it's landing on something hot if you smell something burning.

on the other hand, the burning could be the oil. if you had someone change it who doesnt know what the hell they're doing, they might not have tightened the filter tight enough, and oil could be leaking onto you starter or anything metal and hot. the burning smell may not even be related to the pwr steering problem, being that you had your oil changed recently.Oldmobile Alero 2002-powersteering pump?
The burning smell is probable coming for the power steering pump. Check your hoses for leaks. They usually leak where the hose transfers for metal to rubber. Also make sure the hoses are tight on the pump. When it was replaced the may have not got them tight. (There not easy to get to.)
