You don't have to change the oil in a hydrostatic transmission. Keep the oil level at recommended level..simply fill to the overflow or if it has a dipstick to the full marks. If in dought contach Sears repair.I have a craftsman riding mower model 917.270760 with a hydrogear hydrostatic transmission model 314-0510?
What does the owner's manual say? I don't have one that you can change the oil so my manual doesn't say.I have a craftsman riding mower model 917.270760 with a hydrogear hydrostatic transmission model 314-0510?
If it doesn't smell burnt you don't need to change it.
