One of 2 things is the cause of low oil pressure on these: Clogged pickup screen ( drop oil pan and clean ) or bad cam bearings which unfortunately are part of the cylinder head. How hard is it to change the oil pump in a 2004 chrysler sebring 2.4 liter motor?
When the engine is at idle, it is turning somewhat slowly. The oil pump is driven directly off the engine, so it is also going slowly. As long as it goes off when above idle it should be ok. Just make sure you keep the oil topped off properly. How hard is it to change the oil pump in a 2004 chrysler sebring 2.4 liter motor?

No people...it could be anything...a clogged pickup...the oil pump...main bearings...connecting rod bearings...but this engine doesn't have camshaft bearings :) Do you still have warranty? I think it was 5 year 100,000km in '04.
