How can i check oil pump in 92 mazda truck if going bad w/o taking off oilpan?

oil is full..oil change hasnt been done yet.no gauges for pressure.sometimes it ticks sumtimes it dont.getting worse.dont really wanna take oil pan off..is there another way to check?truck runs good.no loss of power.How can i check oil pump in 92 mazda truck if going bad w/o taking off oilpan?
take out the oil pressure sender and install an 1/8 npt thread pressure gauge and see how it works



40psi idle to 65psi in high rpm but check with the specs to know exactly the correct psi



and what i think the problem you have is not the oil pump

You can wet test the oil pressure. If it's within specs, the pump is fine.



If the oil pressure is low, it gets a bit more complicated. It might be the pump, or it might be excessive clearances or a leaking or blown out oil passage plug in the engine.



Regardless, the first step should be to simply test the oil pressure against the specification.
